What is pocasset oklahoma?

Pocasset is a small town located in Grady County, Oklahoma, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 156. The town is situated along State Highway 81, approximately 49 miles southwest of Oklahoma City.

Pocasset was originally settled by Chickasaw Indians and named "Hickory Hill." The current name comes from the Pocasset Indian Tribe, who were originally from Massachusetts. The town was incorporated in 1902.

Today, Pocasset remains a small, rural community with a handful of businesses, including convenience stores, gas stations, and a few local restaurants. The town is known for its annual Pocasset 4th of July Celebration, which includes a parade, car show, and fireworks display.

Pocasset is also home to a branch campus of the Canadian Valley Technology Center, which provides vocational training in various fields. The town is served by two school districts, the Union City School District and the Ninnekah Public Schools.
